NASCAR Acrylic LED Sign

posted in: Other Projects 0

I made this as a gift for my dad’s birthday. As you may have guessed, he’s a NASCAR fan. This was my second attempt at making an acrylic engraving. It’s made from three images sourced online from free SVG sites. The images were joined using the xTool Laserbox software. I hold no copyright on these images and make no claims as such.

Source Images

These are the three (3) source images I used to make this sign. These are PNG format (transparency). These were imported into the xTool software and then engraved onto the acrylic. While I could share my project file, I have noticed that my power and speed settings are often different from what others use.

This photo was taken after engraving, however the protective film is still on the acrylic. It was more difficult to get off the squares on the flag.

Once the protective film was removed, I put the acrylic into the LED base. I think it looks pretty good. I took some video of the base color-cycling.

Here is a video of the NASCAR Acrylic LED Sign in action.
